Founder Story

Dr. James Yang is a chip design expert in the fields of network, communication, and image processing. Before establishing Arculus, he served as a senior R&D supervisor in several chip design companies in Silicon Valley in the United States and Hsinchu Science Park in Taiwan. The R&D team he led whilst serving in Hsinchu Science Park successfully developed many excellent chip products, including the world's first network security chip.

Dr. Yang went on to successfully develop the IP Mall, the Global Outsourcing Service Platform, and the Cloud Chip Collaborative Design Platform. The Global Outsourcing Service Platform and the Cloud Chip Collaborative Design Platform were successfully launched in 2015, ahead of the global semiconductor industry by many years.

Under Dr. Yang's leadership, Arculus has been at the forefront of EDA innovation, introducing Architecture Compiler and iPROfiler to the market in 2019 and 2021 respectively. These tools address critical challenges in SoC architecture design and performance analysis. In 2023, Dr. Yang represented Arculus at the CogX Festival in the UK, where he shared his vision for the synergy between Taiwan's manufacturing excellence and the UK's engineering innovation.

The United Kingdom has tremendous potential in the semiconductor industry, and Arculus EDA UK is positioned at the forefront of this opportunity. By combining Taiwan's extensive semiconductor manufacturing expertise with the UK's strong tradition of engineering excellence, Arculus creates a unique bridge between East and West in the global chip design ecosystem.
